Today Daddy and Mommy got to visit with Santa Claus and other grown-ups.....for a Holiday celebration. What a wonderful time we had.....Rick and I don't get out together often by ourselves and the day in New York City was just glorious. We were surrounded by great people and the food and drink was devine. When we got home, Emma Sage was so excited to see us and she kept asking me...."how was the city, Mommy?"....."How was New York City.....you model?".....lol!!! I am truly amazed at her memory and understanding of everything that is going around her and our day-to-day life. This is one myth of Down syndrome that I realize that I held, without realizing it, that she would not have this level of understanding. Even Mommy sometimes gets caught up in myths and it takes a little pixie to remind her to not prejudge or presume anything........ It has been a few years since the last time I was at Tavern on the Green....if you have never been, I encourage you to make the trip....it is truly an amazing New York City landmark and a dazzling must see [and taste]

This Holiday Season......when thinking of giving, please consider the 'Make-A-Wish' foundation, and give a gift to grant the wish of a child with a life-threatening medical condition. A WISH that enriches the human experience with Hope, strength and joy!

Sweet child..... 

OK......the joys of having older siblings is the funny [or not so funny things] that they teach their little sister to do.......Miss Emma Sage displaying the BIG L on the forehead with her sweet little voice saying 'Looser'!!!!! Funny? Not!!!!

.......and sharing a kiss. I know many people use the 'excuse' to terminate a pregnancy of a baby with T21 with the comment 'It will impact my other children in a negative way'......and I say to that comment.......You have no clue on how it will impact your other children. For us, the impact has been pure love, and my older three children are incredible human beings because of their baby sister.....she brought them a gift of compassion and humanity that can only come from living a life with such a noble soul.

Pure Joy!!! We have been so very, very busy getting ready for the holidays, making gifts, baking cookies, wrapping presents, decorating. I don't have as much time to even visit the Internet and lurk as well as post.....so I will try to capture our Holiday Season of 2005 in snapshots of our days.........so here is Pure Joy!

So very exciting. This picture of Emma Sage was chosen to appear in a clendar of people with Down syndrome that was organized by two groups on Flickr.com.

This was a very hard endeavor, to chosen only 12 photographs, because each and every picture submitted was precious and wonderful.

So here is our little calendar girl!

This picture was from a series that Greta and I took up at the Teetertown Ravine [which is a mile up the land from our house and had been part of my in-laws property and they gifted it to Green Acres to make the park].....one of the pictures from the set is part of our Christmas cards this year, so it has proven to be such a great, fun, magical day photographing.

Shhhh!!!! Don't tell anyone, but Emma Sage is just giddy about this Christmas Season.....today's snow, the holiday songs, the videos [she is real into the Drummer Boy] and shopping for family and friends and she is just besides herself with JOY!!!! 

Me and My Daddy! Today was the first snow of the season and boy did Emma Sage delight in the beauty and wonder of newly fallen snow. We had our Sunday breakfast at the firehouse [first Sunday of the Month] and it is such a great morning dining with family and friends. There is something so pure and wholesome of living in a small community [just like Mayberry] and sharing fellowship over eggs, sausage and pancakes!
