"It was cold and windy, scarcely the day to take a walk on that long beach Everything was withdrawn as far as possible, indrawn: the tide far out, the ocean shrunken, seabirds in ones or twos. The rackety, icy, offshore wind numbed our faces on one side; disrupted the formation of a lone flight of Canada geese; and blew back the low, inaudible rollers in upright, steely mist." - Elizabeth Bishop, The End of March

I want my daughters jeans.....

How come they have the greatest clothes for kids?

I want Emma Sage's jeans, but sadly, I couldn't get them over my ankle!!! ;) as she is just so tiny......at 6 years and 10 months old, she is all of 43lbs........

Something interesting to think about......

As we prepare Emma Sage to head off to public school......yes, sadly, I have to return to work, so I must send my sweet pea to school, as I can't do both and homeschool her. [This is not to say that I won't continue to school her on top of school [co-schooling I call it] as I have done with all of her siblings.

So the topic of Retarding Environments has come up, as Little Miss is very quick to assess the situation she is in and if she feels those around here do not presume competence or hold the bar too low, she will play right into it and give them 'exactly' what they assume.

This came to play this week at two different events. The first was at her first Special Olympic meeting. She was paired with two lovely teenage girls, who began to treat her like she was a 'baby' and BAM......Emma Sage was seen doing a 'flop and drop' on the track....something she NEVER does with us, as she knows better. I had to have a little talk with the girls to talk to her as they would any six year old and to know that she is to never behave like that again [they were giggling and thinking it was cute].

and then today, off to floor hockey we went. This is a program at the YMCA, where all the children are just grouped by age [5 & 6 year olds]......and here, no one treats her any differently than any of the other children...they are all just five and six year olds learning and playing the game of floor hockey. Guess what....no flop and drop......just a little girl who plays and plays, listens to the directions, talks with the other children and is having lots of fun.

So, I have written Emma Sage's Mission Statement, I have ordered the DVD from Norman Kunc called INCLUSIVE EDUCATION: Rediscovering Our Right to Belong and when I head to our first meeting on April 3rd, I will make sure that all those who work with Emma Sage at school will Presume Competence.

DSC08440
The girls.....these three are the only girls in the league........out of 20 some boys [who play like they are professional hockey players and are going for the Stanly Cup] They all get along so well.
DSC08452
Waiting for the puck to come out to back up the front line.

DSC08481
Playing the game.......right there, intense and loving it!!!

DSC08494
I love this photograph....this instructor is so good with Emma Sage, he always encourages and helps her play her position.

DSC08495
This photograph was so neat, as the sun shining on the wall looked like an arrow pointing at my little player as she is bathed in light. She is getting ready to do the 'end of the game, hand smack'....which is one of her favorite parts of the game.

A funny thing....all the children treat her just as they do everyone else. In warm ups today, Emma Sage would get her turn and then go to the line...but instead of going all the way to the back, she would 'cut'....which did not fly for all the boy players on her team, who pushed her back behind them....all the way till she was at the end. It is so great to watch children figure it out. After a few pushes towards the back, Emma Sage figured out all on her own that she should just go all the way to the back on her own [or be put there by her teammates! lol!!!!]

and this one is a picture that just breaks a Momma's heart......
DSC08402
My little girl got wacked pretty good in the thick of the game and her coach was consoling her........needless to say, as soon as she saw the puck come back towards her, the tears dried up and she was off running and hitting the puck!!!

May the road rise up
To meet you.
May the wind be always

May the sun shine warm

May the rain fall soft
Upon your field,

Today, many miles away, in the land of my Mother, her Mother, my dear Grandmother was laid to rest.

Mary Scully Linehan
May 9, 1915 ~ March 10, 2008

It is so difficult being so many miles away and not being able to be there. I know my beloved Mother was waiting to greet her Mother, who would have said "Philly, what are you doing here?" as my Grandma Linehan did not know my Mother had passed away. My Grandma Linehan had Alzhemiers and would not have fully understood, but would have grieved such a loss, as she asked about Philly all the time. Since my Mother had come to America in 1959, her Mother was used to 'Philly' being so far away, so when she slowly slid into the grasps of Alzheimers, Philly was still on her mind as she would ask how she was.....so everyone told her she was fine.

Rest in Peace Grandma.

I AM.......

My dear friend at Chewy Mom, alerted me to this video...and I just had to share it with you all!!!

Wednesday, March 05, 2008

Oh this child of mine.....

Miss Emma Sage is just 'too' much.

This evening, Greta, Emma Sage and I went to Targets after we dropped Otto off at basketball practice. [yes Katrina, she got a new bikini!!!]

On the way home, she had a package of a treat she was eating and proceeded to throw it towards the front of the car [for Greta to put in the garbage]....but she KNOWS she is not to throw anything, especially in the car while I'm driving.

So I feel a package come whizzing by my arm and land right near the gear shift [I have a 5-speed]

I say "Excuse me......You know you are not allowed to throw anything in the car"

to which my 'spunky' little girl replies....

"I didn't throw it....I TOSSED it!"

Roll-on-floor and pee-my-panties.

Can you imagine how hard it is to NOT laugh and continue with our discipline conversation!

I don't know what I am to do....she is just too darn smart, and way to funny and she loves to push my buttons!!

This is such a beautiful trail....it starts in the town I grew up in, follows along the river [it is the old train bed] and ends a mile up the road from our house. the trail is a little over 13 miles. When I was a young girl, we used to walk the tracks and pick raspberries and hop on the trains [I know, crazy kids....but the frieght trains would roll [lumber] through this area at a crawl]......the views from this trail are incredible. We are so blessed that this is now a part of our county park systems.

When I start training for the 1/2 marathon in June, I will run the trail for my training.

The Sweetest Thing

Photo Sharing - Video Sharing - Photo Printing - Photo Books

This has to be one of the sweetest things I have ever seen. The video clip is from some of Emma Sage's Floor Hockey game today......not too exciting, cute little kids running around after a puck and trying their hardest to hit it towards the goal and score.

BUT, watch closely, just after Emma Sage comes towards me and the camera and moves up toward the goal....the little boy numbered 96......accidently hits Emma Sage in the head with his stick, and watch what he does.....he leans over and rubs her head to help her 'boo-boo'.....and then you can see that Emma Sage is still not sure what exactly happend and is rubbing her head still as it hurt her.

This has to be one of the sweetest things I have ever seen. That little boy was just so precious, endearing and so very kind!!!!!

Tugging on the heart-strings

As a Mother, there are times that you just pause and think 'my heart is going to break apart'......

The other evening, I was on the computer in Greta's room. Emma Sage was cuddled on the bed with Greta just chatting away and watching T.V.

Great and I were talking about 'College' and doing searches of different schools that Greta might like to look at this summer and next fall.

Hearing our conversation about Greta going off to college, Emma Sage sits up and gets real serious and then starts to cry.....

Greta leans over to hug her and asks her "What is wrong?" [since this came out of now where as they were just giggling and chatting a few moments earlier]

and Emma Sage says "I DON'T want TWO sisters away at college"

awe.....now that is a way to break a Mommas heart, as you know that it is going to happen. In a year and half, Greta will be off to her freshman year of college and Katrina will be starting her junior year.....and both her sisters WILL be away.

I really don't want to think about it....as I know this little girl will be lost. She thinks of herself as a teenager, and her sisters are her bestest friends.

Thank goodness for cellphones and the Internet....they can stay in touch much easier than we were able to when we were younger.

When you wish upon a star.....

Emma Sage loves the night-time sky. So do I.

We watched the lunar eclipse the other night.....reading books [I had taken out a bunch of different books at the library last week that had the 'moon' as their main topic] and then did our own 'science' project with a flashlight and some balls to show her exactly how the moon was getting 'covered' by the earth.

So tonight, we were outside and she looks over towards the east to see the moon [last nights moon rising was just beautiful] and it is not there yet. She looks up into the night sky and exclaims.......

"A shooting star....I see a shooting star"

As I turn to look up, she proceeds with:

"I have to make a wish upon the star" she then clasps her hands in prayer and says

"I wish I was not afraid of the big wolf"........I had to hold in my giggles....as she was so very serious.

She has had this obsession with the 'wolf' since we went to the symphony the other week to see 'Peter and the Wolf'....and the costume the boy wore who was the wolf, was quite amazing....and a bit ~ scary.

So, now I am hoping that that lucky star grants her her wish......as little girls should not be afraid of the big, bad wolf!

Traffic......

This child always makes me smile:

The other day we were heading to New York City.....listening to music, talking. We get off of the turnpike and 'bam'...Traffic.

I say "Oh no, we hit traffic"

a few moments later I get a question from Emma Sage.

"Mommy, what is traffic?"

I turn back to look at her, and her sweet little face is full of interest.

I explain that all the cars trying to merge together and get into on lane [and not moving] is traffic. She then asks me "How I hit it" to which I explain that it was just a figure of speech, that I really did not 'hit' it, but we approached it and are now stuck in it.

She is just so observant. We live in a rural area, and don't travel often in the car to congested areas, so she really did not know what 'traffic' was......

But now she does!!!!

On the Upside of Down

OK....I've been on YouTube [Greta has been showing me some of the funniest videos I have ever seen] and I decided to type in Down syndrome....I found this wonderful song and video created for the 2006 World Down syndrome Congress by one of Emma Sage's favorite performers, Fred Penner.

I am so looking forward to attending the 2009 World Down syndrome Congress in Dublin, Ireland [the home of my beloved Mother]

BELONG

My dear friend Betsy over at, Bits of Betsy, has a MeMe she posted, tagging all of us in the Down syndrome communtiy.

I have been working on writing my post, but in the meantime, I encourage you to read her post 'JAKE' and to view this wonderful montage with a very important message.

Floor Hockey Season has begun!

Emma Sage just loves to play sports.

So we signed her up for Indoor Floor Hockey at the YMCA. Today was her first practice/game.

She had a blast....she knows 'hockey' from watching her sisters play Field Hockey, and she has great stick control from playing with her own little field hockey stick and ball...so on the floor today, she had so much fun!

FloorHockey
This was the little 'pow-wow' they had before the game [just after their half-hour of instruction]

Tenacity
Tenacity....this little girl kept her own with all the boys....she was right there in the thick of it all......this was also her 'first' goal as the group of them got it in the goal at this point!!!!

Her favorite part was giving 'high-fives' after they scored [for her it didn't matter which team......a goal and she was all thumbs-up and high-five'ing it!!!]

and my favorite picture of the day........Pure Delight!!!!
Pure Joy

So, you will know where we are for the next 8 weeks.....at the YMCA having a great time!

Siblings....

To the outside world, we all grow old. But not to brothers and sisters. We know each other as we always were. We know each other's hearts. We share private family jokes. We remember family feuds and secrets, family griefs and joys. We live outside the touch of time.

One of Emma Sage's favorite things to do....

Is to feed the Seagulls at a parking lot that is near where we go shopping.

Here is one that we took the other day from the car [it has been so very cold that we feed from teh warmth of the car].....a storm was about to roll through and the clouds made our pictures so very beautiful!

So please enjoy.........

Victoria's Day....

This week, while we were at the library getting our weekly supply of books [Emma Sage takes out between 30 and 40 books a week] as part of our homeschooling curriculm to read.

We are using a literature based homeschooling program and we learn many of our lessons from the fast variety of books that we are blessed to be able to access at our local library.

As we were walking through the shelves of children's books, [up on the top of the shelves, the librarian always has a collection of books set up to look at and take] I hear Emma Sage exclaim.....

"Look Mommy, she is beautiful just like me" pointing up to a book on the top of the shelf.

We take it down to add to our pile, and I get this huge smile across my face.

This is the book that Emma Sage found:

A book about the normalcy of difference

It is called Victoria's Day by Maria de Fatima Campos

This book just made my heart soar, first because my daughter noticed right away the beauty of the child on the cover as possessing the same unique beauty she also possesses.

The second facet of the book that is amazing is that it never talks about Down syndrome or difference.....it is a celebration of a Day in the Life of Victoria [and the exact reason I have this blog for Emma Sage, to share with the world the Normalcy of Difference]. The last page has resources and information on inclusion.

So, please don't mind Emma Sage's bed-head in the picture, but she was so excited about her library find and we wanted to share!

Peter and the Wolf.....

DSC06834

Today, we met with my sister and her children to see the Hunterdon County Symphony and the Franklin Players perform Russian Music, including 'Peter and the Wolf'

Emma Sage enjoyed every moment of the performance [although she was a bit afraid of the wolf....who wore an incredible costume] and she stopped one of the violin players after the show to tell her how much she 'loved' the music and that she wanted to play just like her. Emma Sage is still learning the violin and with the way she beamed during the performance today, I know she has her heart set on being up on stage like that someday.

The Mother at the Swings.....

The beautifully written piece below came to me at such a perfect time, as this week I had a difficult week. I was sick, Emma Sage was sick, Otto was sick and a few of the children I watch were sick. So when I had a friend whom I thought was a rock, turn out to be a 'ginger-bread man' my heart became so heavy, but this piece helped me realize that not everyone 'gets-it' and sometimes if we are lucky, we will happen upon a mother at the swings.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Mother at the Swings
by Vicki Forman
It's a Sunday afternoon. My nine-year-old daughter Josie is at home
drawing cartoons with my husband and I'm swinging my six-year-old son
Evan at the park. Evan laughs and giggles and with each wide arc of
the swing, his smile grows ever larger. The mother next to me smiles
herself and says, "Boy, he really loves that, doesn't he? I mean,
kids just love to swing, don't they?"
Yes, I think, kids do love to swing. But the reason my son loves to
swing isn't the same reason her daughter, in the swing next to us,
loves to swing. My son loves to swing because he is blind and non-
verbal, because he has what is termed "sensory integration
dysfunction" and requires enhanced "vestibular input." Swinging gives
my son the kind of stimulation other kids, those who can see and talk
and run and ride a bike, get by simply being and doing.
And, yes, he also loves to swing because all children love to swing.
I smile back at this mother and I swing Evan higher and he laughs
louder, his squeals of delight growing bigger with every push.
"He really loves to go high," the mother at the swings says. "He's
not afraid at all."
"He's not afraid because he can't see," I say. "He has no idea how
high he's swinging."
"Well, he must have other ways of knowing," she says. "Because he
definitely loves it."
My son was born at twenty-three weeks gestation, weighing only a
pound. His twin sister died four days after birth when we removed her
from life support. Evan was hospitalized for six months and came home
blind, with feeding difficulties, chronic lung disease and global
developmental delays. Soon after that, he developed a serious seizure
disorder and was on medication until his fourth birthday. He did not
walk until he was five, still does not eat anything other than pureed
baby food and formula from a cup, and has only a word or two --
variations on "muh muh" -- which he uses indiscriminately for "more"
or "mama" or "open." I have watched my friends' newborns become
toddlers and school-age children who can walk and laugh and talk and
read, all while my son continues to function at the level of a two-
year-old.
And yes, he has a beautiful laugh and a beautiful smile which grow
only louder and wider on the swings.
When Evan was still in the hospital, a social worker gave us a
handout, a road map for the potential reactions of friends and family
members to our new status as parents of a super preemie. Potential
support people came divided, according to the handouts, into the
following categories: the rocks, the wanna-be-theres, and the
gingerbread men. It warned us that people we might think were "rocks"
could unexpectedly turn out to be "gingerbread men." Just like the
story, they run, run as fast as they can from you when they hear of
your baby's birth.
I quickly found that the guide was right, that I was supported by
only one or two rocks, and that the rest of my friends and family
members had become gingerbread men. As Evan's disabilities became
more obvious, after he left the hospital and in the time that
followed, I found new rocks and said goodbye to the gingerbread men.
And I found a new category for the characters in the social worker's
handout: the mother at the swings.
The mother at the swings wants to know. It's why she makes her
observations, and why she pretends there is nothing different,
nothing dissimilar about her child and mine. All kids love to swing.
The mother at the swings would like for me to tell her what it's
like, how my son is different, and how he is the same. She wants to
know about the cane he uses, and the challenges of having a non-
verbal child, and how I manage to understand my son and communicate.
She'd like to ask, What does his future look like? And How are you
with all this?
She wants to know but she doesn't know how to ask. And so she tells
me that all kids love to swing.
~
It has taken me years to know what to say to the mother at the
swings, and how to say it. To reveal the truth, graciously. To let
her in and help her understand. To tell her that yes, all children
love to swing, and my son loves to swing and the reasons are both the
same and different. That it's hard to watch her daughter, with her
indelible eye contact and winning smile, and not mourn for what my
son can't do. That some days my grief over my son is stronger than my
love.
It has taken me even longer to appreciate the mother at the swings,
to know that she and I have more in common than I once thought. To
know that her curiosity is a mother's curiosity, one borne out of
love and tenderness and a desire to understand a child, my son, one
who happens to be different. That she will listen and sympathize when
I offer my observations. That her compassion and thoughtfulness mean
she will take the knowledge I share and use it to understand other
mothers like myself, some of whom could be her neighbor, her cousin,
her sister, her friend. And, finally, that she wants to know so that
she can teach her own child, who also loves to swing, how to embrace
and treasure what makes us all different.
Sleeping with my cellphone
We have a fan......a serious Hannah Montana fan.
Emma Sage believed that Hannah Montana was going to call her [not sure how she came to that conclusion] but she went for her nap with the cell phone clasped in her hands.
I quickly called Katrina at college and told her about this 'idea' Emma Sage had come to.
Well, guess who called Emma Sage? Yes, 'Hannah Montana'..........apparently she must have been [or a dear friend who had a great southern accent] called Emma Sage from Flagler College and my little girl was on cloud nine!!!!!
Thank you Katrina and your sweet friend.....you made a little girl so very happy!!!
If you ever read my profile....
You will notice that I am a former sky-diver.......a sport that I love, but gave up when I married Rick. That was the one thing he asked me to stop doing when we got married, as you see, a pilot believes the only time you jump out of a plane is if it is going down! lol!!!
Well, I've encouraged all of the children to sky-dive if they ever get the opportunity, and when you see this video clip, you will realize that I mean ALL of my children.
Sky-Diving
This video clip is absolutely amazing.....you must watch it, and listen to the words of the father and the son, as they are very powerful.
and as Casey's father stated, I look at Emma Sage first as an individual who is capable of reaching all of her hopes and dreams [and if jumping out of an airplane is one of her dreams.......you betcha I'm going to tell dear hubby that I must jump at least one more time!!!!] and there is the big catch, if you have ever sky-dived....you know once is not enough. You get that incredible rush in your soul and the next thing you know ~ your back in a plane with a chute strapped to your back and your ready to fly again!!!!!
I wanted to thank a blogging friend for sharing this video link.........and you know that someday, her son Caden and Emma Sage will be spreading their wings [if they want too!]
Sweet Lullaby
Sweet dreams....
As the sun sets
The day comes to an end
And the sky sparkles with stars
The world is at rest
All sleep peacefully
As I sing my sweet lullaby
My gentle voice
Travels around the world
I sing you to sleep
Hear my sweet lullaby
Feel my arms around you
As I hold you close
To my beating heart
I kiss you softly
On your baby cheek
I sing my sweet lullaby
In my sweetest voice
Hear me sing to you
Hear the message in my song
My lullaby to you
Is the love in my beating heart
That I give to you
As my lullaby grows sweeter
And my words more powerful
A choir of sweet angels
They join me
And we sing together
We all sing my sweet lullaby
Sweetly to you
My precious little one
My lullaby is sweet
Becoming sweeter
And more powerful
Angels joining me
As I continue to sing
My sweet lullaby
Hear my angelic voice
Hear the love in my singing
Feel the love in my lullaby
As I still hold you tightly
I will never leave you
Because I love you
So I will keep holding you
And I will keep singing to you
I will sing for an eternity
And my sweet voice
Will only grow sweeter
The love in my song
And in my arms
Will only grow stronger
I will only love you more
And you are more precious to me
Than yesterday
You will only be more precious to me
As the days go by
I will keep singing to you
And I will sing more sweetly
As time passes by
Hear me sing to you
Hear the message in my lullaby
Feel my love growing stronger
As I hold you in my arms
Hear the sweetness in my voice
Growing stronger as I sing to you
My sweet lullaby
The stars will sparkle
The moon will shine her light
And I will still love you
As I sing sweetly to you
My sweet lullaby
The Calculus of Worthiness
The Calculus of Worthiness
Mike Cave
(December 29, 1947 – January 13, 2008)
"If you don't understand what he's saying to you, the worst thing you can do is just say 'Yes' or 'OK.'" And with those instructions, I, the new pastor at FBC Farmersville, embarked upon my relationship with Mike Cave in 1999. Mike was born with Down Syndrome. The doctors told his father and mother that Mike wouldn't live to celebrate his tenth birthday. He outlived them both (and the doctor, to boot).
Upon my arrival in Farmersville, I found that Mike loved to come to church (although he wasn't nearly as fond of the getting-up-in-the-morning that coming to church required). He loved to sing. Mike sang with gusto. The notes weren't quite right. The words weren't quite right. Mike only knew fortissimo. But the spirit of his worship was spot on............
Guess What Is Missing?
Lost......another tooth
If you guessed another tooth, you are right!
Katrina asked Emma Sage if her tooth was loose and she wiggled it and low and behold, a little tug from Katrina, and my little girl is missing her 2nd baby tooth!
This is such a silly picture, but it was the only one we have that showed the gap.....the tooth was directly below the top one that she lost. We joke with her that she can drink from a straw and not open her mouth!!!!
Emma Sage and Star
Emma Sage and Star
He's a one trick pony
One trick is all that horse can do
He does one trick only
It's the principal source of his revenue
And when he steps into the spotlight
You can feel the heat of his heart
Come rising through
See how he dances
See how he loops from side to side
See how he prances
The way his hooves just seem to glide
He's just a one trick pony (that's all he is)
But he turns that trick with pride
He makes it look so easy
He looks so clean
He moves like God's
Immaculate machine
He makes me think about
All of these extra movements I make
And all of this herky-jerky motion
And the bag of tricks it takes
To get me through my working day
One-trick pony
He's a one trick pony
He either fails or he succeeds
He gives his testimony
Then he relaxes in the weeds
He's got one trick to last a lifetime
But that's all a pony needs
She fell in Love......
On the way to visit Grammy at the hospital the day she fell [on my Birthday] the kids and I rescued a little dog from the highway. My heart almost stopped as I watched it dart in and out of the traffic [all going 50 m.p.h. or greater] on a four lane highway a few miles from the hospital. We pulled over and put on our flashers and Katrina and Greta got out and rescued her. She was a miniture collie and Emma Sage fell madly in love with her.
She stayed the night and following day [as we located the owners through the police and had arranged to bring her to them on our way to the hospital the next evening] The dog [named Shasta] was owned by a little Mistress of eight, and guess what her name was? Tara, the same as me!
Here is Emma Sage taking a nap with Shasta.......
Back to Modeling
Before the rush of the season, Emma Sage had a very busy week modeling in the beginning of December. She headed to NYC [I posted about that shoot earlier and then I neglected my blog and posting......I just had such a hard time after the loss of my friend Annette and then my mil's fall, of posting about all that she has been up to....but she has been one happy, busy little girl. It has really refreshed my soul to watch her and be with her, as she celebrates everyday, every moment, and allows me to remember that while life can be tough and sad and unpredictable, each moment is precious and needs to be lived and celebrated]
So in one week, Emma Sage modeled on Monday, Wednesday and Friday!!!!
Here are a few pictures from the last shoot on Friday,
On set....
If you look closely, you can see her big smile......she was having so much fun!
This shoot was for a First Grade School book.......how cool is that!?!
Waste-free Lunches
Otto has been joining me in my quest for optimal health. He used to love to buy school lunches [I think it was because his friends did and they thought it was cool]
but since we have been on a quest for optimal health and fitness in our home [I have lost 53lbs to date and have a goal of 45lbs more] he has been taking lunches [this makes this Momma happy, as his sister's always bring/brought lunch] and I found this lunch box and concept wonderful. It is called 'Waste-Free Lunches' and the reuseable lunchbox is located at Laptop Lunches.
I'm Capable
"I'm Capable"
Those are the words you hear often out of the mouth of Emma Sage.
She is so very funny [and very capable]
She will tell you that when she is struggling with something [like tying her shoes] and you go to 'assist' her, she will stop you and say "I'm Capable".....and by golly, she is, as she triumphs over her obstacle.
So if you ask her "What are you?" she will either answer:
"I'm cute!"
or
"I'm Capable"
and we all agree.....she is both, cute and capable!!!!
Santa Baby......
Santa Baby
Emma Sage was so very excited this whole Holiday Season.....her joy was quite infectous and she made everyone around her grin from ear to ear just by seeing how excited she was about Old St. Nick!
“A new year is unfolding – like a blossom with petals curled tightly concealing the beauty within.”
The New Year is upon us, and Little Miss Emma Sage has been wonderful. Her love of all the Magic and Glitter of the Holiday was infectous. She has been up to so many things, and this Momma has been so neglegent in updating her blog.
I had a hard time dealing with the loss of a dear friend. The fragility of life was difficult to accept and process for me.
I celebrated my 44th Birthday [and Emma Sage was just so excited to tell everyone that it was her Momma's 44th Birthday] and then on the next day, Rick and I celebrated our 20th Wedding Anniversay.
At the same time, my Mother-in-Law Lorraine, fell on the wicked ice we had shattered her Femur bone. So, we have been busy traveling to and from [and visiting] with her as she recovers.
Christmas Eve arrived and Christmas Day [I have lots of pictures and stories to tell...but will save them for a day when I have more time to upload and write]
New Year's Eve was quiet and very special, with Emma Sage, Rick and I the only ones home to say 'Good-bye' to 2007 and welcome in 2008!!!
I thank all of you who stop by and visit and I'm sorry that I have been a bad blogger!
Stop by soon to see and hear all about all the adventures Emma Sage has been up to!
Peace and love, Tara Marie & Emma Sage and clan
